Photographic Investigations
At the end of my second year of study, i aimed to capture time and memory as a singular fragmented moment. I became heavily inspired by Chaos Theory and the idealised work of John Clang.
Chaos theory is an interdisciplinary theory stating that, within the apparent randomness of chaotic complex systems, there are underlying patterns, interconnectedness, constant feedback loops, repetition, self-similarity, fractals, and self-organization. I found that by recording one space photographically over series of 1 hour, many people appeared in the same space, and the only thing separating them from connecting was time.

This work was handmade and produced by printing all singular images on A4 printer paper and tearing up fragments of movement. All the paper was selected to fit the scene, then scanned back into the computer and compressed into these final photomontages. The mixture of black and white and colour are used to exacerbate the separation between one moment in time from another.
